Doom Is Upon Us!

Look alive, Heroes!
The first weekend of the campaign is here with another Stretch Goal being unlocked! The zombie Winter Soldier had already been unlocked when we reached the amazing 4 million milestone...
... and now that we reached 4,200k we are unlocking Daredevil!
Both were achieved with the aid of our recently revealed Optional Buy expansion, Fantastic 4: Under Siege. If you haven't yet, make sure to check it out here!
The next Stretch Goal brings sorcery and technology to fight the zombies.
If we reach $4,250k we will unlock the Kickstarter Exclusive living Doctor Doom for all backers, including his Super Hero Piece, ID Card for playing him in Hero Mode, and Spawn Card for fighting him in Zombie Mode!
Note the X-Men Resistance core box is needed to play in Hero Mode.
Hero Mode: Victor is a fearsome leader who can get the task done, even if it means using his allies as resources. Doctor Doom brings pragmatic solutions to the zombie outbreak. Most of his abilities impose some cost to the other Super Heroes, though what he’s able to get out of it through his techno sorcery certainly makes it worth it (at least in his eyes).
Zombie Mode: When facing Doctor Doom, his commanding abilities turn the SHIELD Agents into truly lethal enemies, as he constantly shuffles Extra Activation and Rush cards back into the Spawn deck. And besides that, he’s just incredibly tough.
Until next time, stay hungry!

Look alive, Heroes!
Time to check out the latest headline!
In this edition, find out all about a Norse god who might not be so worthy these days.
Today’s Daily Reward is adding the Kickstarter Exclusive zombie Thor for all backers, including his Zombie Hero Piece, ID Card for playing him in Zombie Mode, and Spawn Card for fighting him in Hero Mode!
Note the X-Men Resistance core box is needed to play in Hero Mode.
ZOMBIE MODE: While no longer worthy of lifting Mjolnir, Thor still possesses his legendary strength and durability. Unlike his living counterpart, which could make use of his mighty hammer to perform attacks at range, the now-zombie Thor merely uses his brute strength to bring down the tastiest meals of all: Super Heroes!
HERO MODE: Being undead has done nothing to lessen the power of the God of Thunder, who combines brute strength with some of the highest Toughness in the game, ensuring that only the most powerful attacks can finally bring him down.
J. Jonah Jameson is already in a heated discussion with his staff about tomorrow’s Morning Edition.

Look alive, Heroes!
Today's evening edition of the Daily Bugle comes in the heels of a big story unveiled earlier today: the arrival of the Fantastic 4: Under Siege expansion for Marvel Zombies! If you haven't read about it yet, check it out below!
And now, it's time to check out the latest headline!
In this edition, learn about how the leader of the X-Men manages to keep his head during this crisis!
Today’s Daily Reward is adding the Kickstarter Exclusive living Cyclops for all backers, including his Super Hero Piece, ID Card for playing him in Hero Mode, and Spawn Card for fighting him in Zombie Mode!
Note the X-Men Resistance core box is needed to play in Hero Mode.
HERO MODE: When taking control of Cyclops in Hero Mode, you will find yourself in control of a potent mix of ranged attacks and team-inspiring capabilities, whether its blasting hordes of zombies with your Optic Blast or granting bonus Actions to your teammates via his Mutant Leader Skill.
ZOMBIE MODE: While he isn’t the toughest opponent, he more than makes up for it by bringing high damage-dealing ranged attacks to the fray, capable of not only hitting one target but all those standing in the way as well!
J. Jonah Jameson is already in a heated discussion with his staff about tomorrow’s Morning Edition.
X-Men Resistance Core Box Zombie Hordes
In this Evening Edition we also explore the hordes of Enemies of the X-Men Resistance core box. As this box focuses on the Hero Mode, the relentless horde swarming the streets to feast on the flesh of the Super Heroes consist of various kinds of mutant zombies.
It really shouldn’t be surprising that the most numerous horde of zombies shambling around the streets is composed of a single man: Jamie Madrox. He is known as the Multiple Man, after all. Becoming a zombie didn’t stop his mutant ability to multiply, and now he slowly swarms the city. While it’s unnerving to see a whole crowd of Walkers with the same face, it’s even worse when he suddenly multiplies, adding more duplicates of himself in every Zone where he’s present!
Groomed and trained by the Hellfire Club, these elite soldiers are vicious and relentless. Becoming zombies only shifted their blind devotion from the Club to their ever-growing Hunger. They are lightning-fast, clawing and biting at the Super Heroes with wild abandon. They also track down and hunt Bystanders, so you’ll need to be fast if you hope to rescue the unlucky Bystanders that spawn on the board with a pack of Runners breathing down their neck.
Created and funded by the Hellfire Club, the Reavers are a private military organization whose members have been cybernetically enhanced to become unstoppable enforcers. Half tank, half zombie, these Brutes use themselves as shields for the rest of the zombie horde, since they can take a couple hits from the strongest of Super Heroes before they can be brought down. While they are generally sluggish, don’t get too comfortable, as they may kick their tanks into overdrive, suddenly rushing the Super Heroes in such an intimidating display as to deprive them of all their Power!

Fantastic 4: Under Siege
– Sat, Jan 22, 2022 at 01:48:38 AM
Look alive, Heroes!
As the zombie invasion rages through the streets of New York, high up on the top floors of the Baxter Building, Mister Fantastic is putting the final touches on a device that could be the salvation of mankind. His Dimensional Teleporter might mean a new beginning for the remaining Super Heroes. However, the Zombie Heroes are aware of this new development, and they see the potential it holds for them. Soon there will be no one left to devour in this world, and the Hunger will consume them, but a Dimensional Teleporter would open up an infinite supply to keep them sated. The siege of the Baxter Building has begun. Can the zombies led by Doctor Doom break through, or will the Fantastic 4 hold fast?
For $50, Fantastic 4: Under Siege is an expansion for Marvel Zombies introducing the last stand of the Fantastic 4 against their zombie nemesis, which can be experienced in both Zombie Mode and Hero Mode. Featuring Super Heroes, Zombie Heroes, and Bystanders tied to Marvel’s First Family, this expansion takes the action from the ground floor all the way to the roof of the Baxter building, in a unique floor-by-floor board setup that allows players to run this deadly gauntlet in order to secure Reed Richard’s fantastic technology!
The regular retail price for this expansion is estimated at $60.
The Fantastic 4: Under Siege expansion comes with:
1 Mister Fantastic Super Hero Game Piece
1 Invisible Woman Super Hero Game Piece
1 Human Torch Super Hero Game Piece
1 The Thing Super Hero Game Piece
1 Doctor Doom Zombie Hero Game Piece
1 Super-Skrull Zombie Hero Game Piece
1 Namor Zombie Hero Game Piece
1 Black Bolt Zombie Hero Game Piece
1 Alicia Masters Bystander Game Piece
1 Agatha Harkness Bystander Game Piece
4 Double-Sided Game Tiles
1 Elevator Token
4 Super Hero ID Cards
4 Zombie Hero ID Cards
4 Super Hero Spawn Cards
4 Zombie Hero Spawn Cards
4 Bystander Cards
1 Rulebook
And if you acquire this Optional Buy in this campaign, you will also get a set of 4 extra Kickstarter Exclusive bonus Heroes! Counterparts to some of those in the expansion:
1 Mister Fantastic Zombie Hero Game Piece
1 Invisible Woman Zombie Hero Game Piece
1 The Thing Zombie Hero Game Piece
1 Super-Skrull Super Hero Game Piece
1 Super Hero ID Card
3 Zombie Hero ID Cards
1 Super Hero Spawn Card
3 Zombie Hero Spawn Cards
Let’s explore each of the different things that this expansion brings to the game:
From the streets of New York, players will be able to enter the lobby of the Baxter Building. The elevator is the only connection between each floor of the Fantastic 4’s headquarters, which means players can find themselves isolated from their teammates if they are not careful. Running the gauntlet tile by tile, players will explore such locations as the family living quarters, Reed’s biology and physics labs, Negative Zone chamber, cryo storage, hangar, and roof; all filled with challenges and amazing detail. This unique location will be explored over several new scenarios for both Hero Mode and Zombie Mode!
Hero Mode: There is no doubt that Reed Richards is an absolute genius. He puts that brainpower to good use not only for the gadgets he builds, but also with clever tactics to outsmart the zombies. More than that, Mister Fantastic brings his stretchy body to the table, being able to gather Bystanders and Objectives from range in order to evade the zombies.
Zombie Mode: Zombie Heroes will want to keep a very safe distance from Mister Fantastic, as his impossibly stretchy arms manage to pull everyone around him into his zone.
Hero Mode: Becoming invisible certainly comes in handy when Sue Storm is trying to evade the zombie hordes. By projecting Psionic Force Fields, she’s able to not only shield and protects those around her from attacks, but also trap the zombies in energy bubbles.
Zombie Mode: The Invisible Woman acts as a moving force field, protecting herself and any other SHIELD Agents and Super Heroes in her Zone from players attempting to attack from a distance.
Hero Mode: Turns out it’s not an easy task to devour someone who's on fire, and Johnny Storm certainly uses that to his advantage. He can get into the thick of things, getting a wide berth from the less suicidal zombies. And should they try to snack on him anyway, they’re likely to get brunt to a crisp.
Zombie Mode: The Human Torch needs to be put away quickly. Zombie players foolish enough to end their turn near him will automatically feel the burn.
Hero Mode: It's clobberin' time! And Ben Grimm certainly packs a punch that will rock any zombie’s world. Strong and durable, The Thing is the heavy hitter of the Fantastic 4, so get him inside the hordes and show them what-for!
Zombie Mode: Zombie Heroes quickly learn that attacking The Thing is often a futile gesture. Not only is he incredibly tough, but even if eliminated there’s a chance he’ll just shake it off.
Zombie Mode: Death cannot stop Victor Von Doom! Even as a zombie his brilliant tactical mind exerts control over allies and enemies alike. His dominion over science and magic grant him power over life and death to bring fear into the heart of any surviving Super Hero.
Hero Mode: The leader of Latveria becomes the leader of the zombies, using the undead hordes as pawns for his nefarious plans.
Zombie Mode: Imbued with the powers of the Fantastic 4, the Super-Skrull now uses those combined abilities to devour his enemies. A clobbering rock-like punch to knock out Super Heroes, invisibility to evade attacks, fire to keep enemies at bay, and stretchy hands to bring his targets closer. This is one versatile Zombie Hero!
Hero Mode: Feeding off of the Hunger, the Super-Skrull gains more power the higher the Danger Level of the player Heroes.
Zombie Mode: While the Hunger has taken him, Namor is actually at his strongest when he is NOT Ravenous. Unlike other Zombie Heroes who are always trying to stay within the top levels of their Hunger track, Namor’s natural abilities are actually depleted the hungrier he gets. He should be constantly devouring enemies in order to keep his powers at their maximum.
Hero Mode: A truly deadly foe, Namor requires the strongest of attacks to be defeated. Being away from his aquatic domain increases not only his hunger but also his thirst, granting him additional Actions the longer he is allowed to remain on the board.
Zombie Mode: Though the Hunger consumes him, it has not dampened his power. He can deliver massive damage at range via the quasi-sonic blast of his voice, and he can channel ambient particles and electrons into super-charged Devour attacks. On top of that, he carries around the severed undead head of his lover Medusa, wielding it to trap his enemies with her inhuman hair.
Hero Mode: Black Bolt channels his Hunger into greater feats of destruction and power based on the player Heroes’ Danger Level.
Alicia Masters is living proof that love breaks all barriers (after all, she did manage to get The Thing to crumble). By Rescuing/Devouring her, the player is able to use one Skill per turn without having to spend the required Power or increase Hunger.
Agatha Harkness is a powerful sorceress who looked after Reed and Sue’s son, Franklin Richards. By Rescuing/Devouring her, the player is able to ward off trouble, using her Bystander card to keep a particularly nasty Spawn card from being drawn.
Backers getting this expansion through this campaign will also get four extra Kickstarter Exclusive complementary versions of characters to play with (or fight against).
HERO MODE: Combining the powers of the Fantastic 4, Super-Skrull is tough, agile, and brings plenty of tricks to the table. He uses his sharp combatant’s mind to put his various powers to their best use. Swarming zombie mobs don’t deal very well with fire, and a solid rock punch is usually more than enough to deal with them.
ZOMBIE MODE: The Zombie Heroes will need contend with a versatile for in the Super-Skrull. He can attack at range with his stretchy limbs. Players need to make sure they’re up to the challenge, as any attack that fails to eliminate him result in a wounded Zombie Hero.
ZOMBIE MODE: A signature move of Mister Fantastic is his elastic arms… Now used in service of his own hunger! Mister Fantastic is able to tactically reposition both Bystanders and Super Heroes in the Zones around him, opening up vantages for his allies. It seems being dead has had no impact on his super-intelligence!
HERO MODE: While he used his elastic powers to save those around him before succumbing to the zombie hordes, he now uses those same powers to ensnare and entrap nearby Bystanders and Super Heroes, pulling them into his waiting jaws!
ZOMBIE MODE: Sue Storm has seen better days. Still, the Invisible Woman tends to go unseen most of the time, which actually comes in very handy when hunting people to devour! While her force fields can be used to keep her and her allies safe, they are now more commonly used to ensnare food.
HERO MODE: The Invisible Woman traps nearby Super Heroes and Bystanders in her force fields, preventing them from moving away as she closes in for the kill.
Zombie Mode: Its clobberin' time… Nah, it's chompin' time! The Thing’s appetite is as great as his bulk, and he reacts to SHIELD attacks with one answer: Lunch time. If he's attacked, he can counter with a free Devour attack. Paired with his undead toughness, it makes The Thing an unstoppable Zombie Hero.
Hero Mode: The Thing was already one of the toughest Heroes BEFORE becoming undead, now he requires the strongest attacks (spending a lot of extra Power) to be taken down.
If you want to play with the Fantastic 4 and their enemies, and bring your game to new heights, make sure to add the Fantastic 4: Under Siege expansion to your pledge!
Until next time, stay hungry!

Look alive, Heroes!
Before we check the latest headline, we do have some good news for people in Norway. We've just received information that our logistics partner has found a solution and so we will be offering shipping to Norway in this campaign.
In this edition, we profile a high-society dame who shows us love conquers all.
Today’s Daily Reward is adding the Kickstarter Exclusive Vanessa Fisk for all backers, including her Bystander Piece and 2 Spawn Cards for hunting her in Zombie Mode or rescuing her in Hero Mode!
Note the X-Men Resistance core box is needed to play in Hero Mode.
Wilson Fisk’s beloved wife, Vanessa is a natural source of power. By Rescuing/Devouring her, the player may discard her card to get an instant boost of Power/Hunger. While a Super Hero has her card, they don’t lose Power if a Bystander gets Devoured.
J. Jonah Jameson is already in a heated discussion with his staff about today’s Evening Edition.
Marvel Zombies Core Box S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents
In this Morning Edition, we also explore the hordes of Enemies of the Marvel Zombies core box. As this box focuses on the Zombie Mode, the never-ending forces that swarm the streets to hunt down the Zombie Heroes consist of the various types of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents.
Troopers are the grunts of the S.H.I.E.L.D. forces. Wielding electroshock batons, these agents are neither remarkably tough, fast, or lethal. Their greatest strength, however, is in numbers. If you are not careful you may easily find yourself surrounded by a mob of Troopers capable of bringing down even the strongest Zombie Hero.
Don’t discount Troopers are predictable foes, though. Rush cards allow them to activate as soon as they spawn, which can be particularly dangerous when opening a building. And worse yet, when given the command they will all draw their sidearm and open fire on Zombie Heroes in adjacent Zones! Such shots may not be guaranteed to punch through your defenses, but enough of them can certainly but a damper on your day.
Elite S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers with cutting-edge equipment, Specialists are able to bring fear into the cold hearts of Zombie Heroes. Their electroshock batons may not do much damage, but their jetpacks give them enough speed that they are able to close in on their target quickly and strike several times. And if that weren’t bad enough, their jetpacks also allow them to make surprise air drops occasionally, spawning right on top of each Zombie Hero!
The brutes of the S.H.I.E.L.D. forces, Guards pack a punch with electroshock gauntlets, and are notoriously tough, equipped with heavy armor and riot shields. Understandably, they are usually not very fast, so they can surprise you with a Rush card when spawning. Sometimes you will find squads of Guards escorting a Bystander around, protecting those tasty treats behind their tough armor.
