Manufacturing of the Wave 2 products is finally kicking into gear. The factories are doing the final tests to make sure the plastic components and print components will go together as intended. For that, white samples of the boxes, cards, tiles, and rulebooks were done, so they can be combined with the plastic trays for fitting and safety testing. Here you can see these samples piled up:

On the pile on the left we have, from top to bottom:

• Marvel Zombies: X-Men Resistance

We don't yet have delivery estimates from the factories, as they're coordinating how best to handle this massive production and we don't want to speak out of turn. But don't worry, more solid info should be coming soon.

Meanwhile, delivery of Galactus continues to move ahead as detailed in the PREVIOUS UPDATE, with many people in Asia already having received theirs. Now, to clarify a few questions voiced in the last update:

• All backers who acquired Galactus are being delivered to at this time, whether they chose Single Wave or 2-Wave Shipping. However, shipping will be staggered to the different hubs over the course of a few months, starting in Asia, then Australia and Canada, then Europe, and then USA.
• The Galactus box includes the expansion box with Silver Surfer, the cards, rules, and missions.
• Galactus was always going to ship separately from the rest of Wave 2, since it is a carton unto itself. Shipping was charged with that in mind, since shipping costs are based on cartons, not individual game boxes. The only development here is that Galactus is shipping before the rest of Wave 2.
• Galactus comes assembled, except for the interchangeable head and right arm. Shipping him unassembled from his base would pose a serious risk of parts getting damaged during transport. Plus, there are licensing restrictions about this.

Galactus Invasion Plans

Since producing the giant Galactus was always going to be such a massive undertaking, its production was started as soon as possible. In fact, production of all the thousands of Galactus has recently wrapped up!

Since the Galactus the Devourer expansion is a whole carton by itself, there's no reason to ship it together with the rest of the Wave 2 products, therefore we're starting to ship it immediately! Of course, everything to deal with Galactus is a massive endeavor, and that includes assembling, packing, and shipping out all the containers needed for ferry these thousands of cartons all over the globe, which means the factory will be sending these out constantly over the course of a couple months. 

APAC should start shipping out next week. Australia and Canada should be fully shipped out by the end of the month. Europe should ship in early April. Finally, the huge quantity for the USA hub starts shipping in April and should keep shipping out throughout May up to early June. We'll keep you updated as we get more clear dates and delivery estimates.

Gearing up for Wave 2 Production

We don't really have much to show at this time, but here's an update on what's happening at the moment:

All print files have been approved by Marvel, and so the factory is sending us the last print proofs for us to check before they can start full production.

The factory has also started sending us the last plastic samples that needed refinement, which means plastics will also be ready for full production very soon.

We'll keep you updated as thing continue moving ahead.

We hear the factories are finally coming back online after Chinese New Year, so we should be wrapping the final pre-production aspects soon, so the full production can start.

As people start playing the Marvel Zombies core box, we see the first few rules questions start to crop up. There don't seem to be many pressing matters so far, but we feel it's enough that we should address them with the first version of an FAQ document that you can download HERE.

CNY Break, plus box and color samples

Wave 1 shipping is now completed. If any 2-Wave Expedited Shipping backer is still missing their tracking number, please reach out to customer support. With Wave 1 shipping now behind us, we turn our full focus to Wave 2.

All print files have been finalized and we're just waiting for final Marvel approval on the last of them.

The factory is now on holiday for Chinese New Year, so the last approvals on the adjustments for the plastic game pieces will have to wait a little more. But we should be ready to go into full production shortly after the factory gets back up and running next month.

However, the factory did manage to send us a couple last samples right before closing for the holidays. Let's check them out.

The first is the Box for the plastic components in the Marvel Zombies: X-Men Resistance core box. We had already seen the trays with the plastics, but here's the printed box:

As usual the box also displays a tray guide to help keep the character pieces in place:

And then we also got samples for the X-Men Resistance Color Bases and Tracker Cubes used to help identify the Super Heroes and track their Health and Power. During the campaign, backers often asked us to make those components in different colors from the Marvel Zombies box. Well, we are happy to comply:
